Types of Bridges
Concrete bridges may be construct at any shape and design depending upon the whatever functional, aesthetic looks , capacity of traffic and economic criteria are appropriate to the site location and needs of the client or as per demand of user.
- Arch type bridges
Arches are one of the oldest type of bridge construction methodology. For large range of spans of bridges arch type of bridges may be considered.
- Slab type bridge decks
Slab type bridge decks are very much useful for short span of bridges. This types of bridge may be designed with either solid or hollow slabs with any kind of shape , they are usually constructed with insitu type
- Beam type bridges
Beam type RCC bridges can be constructed quickly to erect over existing roads, railways or rivers or any other obstructions. Standard concrete precast beam types bridges can setup for spans of up to 50m.
- Box girder type bridges
Box girders types of bridges are generally used for spans from 40m up to 300m using either in-situ type of concrete or precast type of concrete multiple segment construction. Box girders type of construction produce is elegant and robust solutions.
- Extradosed type bridges
Extradose type of bridges are one kind of hybrid type between a conventional type of box girder deck bridges and a cable stayed type of bridge. Basically stiff deck is supported by metal cables at a shallow inclination from short pylons support structures.
- Cable stayed type bridges
Cable stayed type bridges are best or appropriate for considering longer spans of different types of bridges. This type of bridges can be designed or constructed for a huge range of span and cable configurations bridges.
- Stressed type ribbon bridges
The stressed type ribbonbridges is a form of suspension type of bridge that encases suspension cables within the concrete deck permanently. They are only suitable for use as pedestrian bridge not suitable for heavy vehicle movement.
- Inclined frame type bridges
Inclined frame type of bridges are constructed with the supporting on concrete piers which is integral with the deck and at an inclination to the vertical member. They are ideally suited or constructed across the valleys or steep sided cuttings.
